National Day of Reflection at Seacroft Green
March 23rd marks one year since the first UK lockdown and today we all come together to “reflect on our collective loss, to support those who’ve been bereaved, and to hope for a brighter future.” Seacroft Green Care Centre organised a very special day to mark this National Day of Reflection with a beautiful ceremony, followed by a minutes silence at 12 noon. Home Manager, Clare, read a beautiful prayer and Lifestyle Co-Ordinator, Emma, read a poem that she has written (below) before we planted a tree and memory box in the garden.
It was a very emotional day for many of our residents and staff who were all very tearful as we reflected on the past year and remembered those who are no longer with us. “It was a lovely ceremony that allowed us all to reflect on the past year. We were all especially emotional when we planted a memory box along with a cherry blossom tree and said ‘see you soon’ to our loved ones and family at Seacroft Green” – Emma Nuttall, Lifestyle Co-Ordinator.
This evening, we will also be participating in the 8pm doorstep silence in which we all come together with a light, candle, torch or even mobile phone, to remember those who are no longer with us and to show our support for those who have lost loved ones.
